Safe relocation
WordPress site migration
Changing hosting is scary for a simple reason: everything is at stake — site, database, email, domain, Google rankings. An improvised move can mean hours of downtime, lost content or a collapse in organic traffic.
Fixotron handles the complete migration of your WordPress site: from the old host to the new one, with visitors noticing nothing and Google finding everything exactly where it should be.
When migrating makes sense
The most frequent reasons our clients move house:
- The site is slow and the current hosting is the bottleneck
- Moving away from generalist shared hosting to WordPress-optimized environments
- Renewal costs keep growing with no improvement in service
- Absent technical support or unacceptable response times
- You need more control: staging, SSH, current PHP versions, proper backups
- Consolidating several sites scattered across different hosts
- Moving from staging/development to production, or changing domain
How we preserve your SEO during the move
Your site's SEO value lives in its URLs, its content and the technical signals Google knows. Our procedure preserves all of them: the URL structure stays identical (and where it must change, we configure precise 301 redirects), SSL certificates are active before the switch, sitemap and Search Console are updated, and the DNS change happens with lowered TTLs so it propagates in minutes.
The site stays online on the old server until the new one is verified and fully working: the switch is the last step, not the first. Actual downtime: zero, or a few minutes.
Multisite, WooCommerce and complex cases
Not all migrations are equal. A WordPress multisite, a WooCommerce store receiving orders even during the move, a site with external integrations or critical cron jobs — these require dedicated planning: agreed migration windows, a final data sync, and testing of every feature before the switch.
These are the cases we enjoy most. After the migration it's also the perfect time for a check-up: a speed optimization pass on the new hosting often multiplies the benefits of the move, and a maintenance plan keeps the site in shape in its new home.
Frequently asked questions
Will the site go offline during the migration?
No. The site stays live on the old hosting until the copy on the new one is complete and verified. The final DNS switch takes a few minutes, in a time window we agree on.
Will I lose Google rankings?
Not if the migration is done correctly: identical URLs, 301 redirects where needed, SSL active from the first moment and an updated sitemap. That is exactly our standard procedure.
Do you handle email too?
Yes: we take stock of the existing mailboxes and plan their transfer, or their migration to a dedicated service, with no lost messages.
How long does a migration take?
A standard site is migrated in 1–3 working days, tests included. Multisites, active e-commerce stores and complex cases get dedicated planning, defined in the quote.
